ReNew 2026: Focus on people before plans

Against a backdrop of continuing uncertainty over the future shape of orthodox Anglican ministry, Chairman Kieran Bush has urged delegates at this years' ReNew conference to see the harvest before trying to answer every strategic question.

ReNew, the network bringing together conservative evangelical Anglicans from within the Church of England and beyond, gathered in Nottingham for its annual two-day conference under the theme: "Lord, teach us to pray".

Speaking from Matthew 9v35–38, Bush warned those present that it is possible to care deeply about the state of the church while completely missing the people it is intended to serve. If Christians are to give people something that can bear the weight of their hope, he argued, they must give them Christ, not a five-year plan.
