Students re-envisioned for evangelism through The Send

UCCF recently partnered with The Send, a campaign that seeks to "activate believers to live a missional lifestyle by adopting and reaching real mission fields at home and abroad".

Through evenings of worship, prayer and praise, The Send encourages young people to pray for revival in our nation, something that is also deeply rooted within the ethos of UCCF.

UCCF Staff Worker Matty Lavelle meets regularly with students he supports at the Christian Unions in Birmingham. Some of these students had recently attended a local The Send event where they had the opportunity to fill in a form to be a part of student mission.

"Today I was [talking to] three students who ticked they want to be involved in this," Matty shared. "I was quite nervous and sceptical about how the conversations would go, but all three were really encouraging!" It was such an encouragement to Matty that each of these three students showed a deep desire to share Jesus.

The Send has encouraged Christian students at all levels. One student has already taken several opportunities to share the gospel with their friends during their time at university and has been inspired afresh to do more. Another student is at a university where there isn't currently a Christian Union (CU).

"It has given me hope that there may be one as I've been praying for there to be a CU in that university for a long time!" Matty shared.

Matty was also especially encouraged by the third student who is part of a university with a fragile CU. It seems the CU may now have a more secure future for the coming year with Charlie keen to maintain an evangelistic witness on campus.
