A Fulani Christian was murdered by six gunmen on 17 November.

Moussa, who was active as an evangelist, was travelling between Douenzta and Kerana, just north of the border with Burkina Faso, when he was attacked.

A witness was kidnapped by the attackers and has not been seen since. Moussa, deputy mayor of Kerana, was on his way to a political campaign. In the lead-up to elections in Mali on 20 November, threats were made against those, including Christians, who might not vote ‘correctly’. It is yet to be established whether this had anything to do with Moussa’s murder. He leaves a wife and eight children.
