When Iranian women discover Jesus and their inherent worth in him, many cannot help but share the gospel with others.
Attieh* is one such lady who has become an irrepressible evangelist. Attieh was given a New Testament in a country near Iran. As Attieh read, the Word of God spoke to her heart. So, the next Sunday, Attieh made a two-hour trip to the nearest Persian-language church. That day, in the church, she gave her heart to Jesus.
The following week, Attieh brought ten of her friends to church. Two of these have now also come to Christ. Others are reading the Bible and asking questions. Attieh is being discipled by the pastor’s wife and is growing in her faith.

Second-class citizens
But in Iran, being a woman is not easy: women have little identity and security. Society tells them they are second-class citizens. Too many have suffered abuse and have deep wounds which need healing. That is why Elam Ministries has a dedicated women’s team, who counsel and minister to women. In recent weeks, the women’s team has been hosting two conferences. Over many years, the Lord has faithfully used these conferences to bring transformation and healing to hundreds of women, and to equip them for gospel ministry.
Building up women
During 2017, the goal of Elam Ministries is to host foundation conferences to disciple at least 200 new believers; and advanced conferences to build up at least 40 women who are serving in ministry.
