The Global Assembly of Pastors for Finishing the Task (FTT) has held an online forum to discuss how to mobilise churches to cover 5,000 unengaged and unreached people groups.
FTT is a movement of 1,600 churches and organisations who have come together to reach the Unengaged, Unreached People Groups (UUPGs). These are people groups who have no access to a Bible, believers, or a body of Christ and have less than 0.1% evangelical believers. Rick Warren is the director.
Supposed to be conducted in Korea’s Incheon Pilgrim, the assembly went virtual due to Covid-19. Korean pastors and missionaries were able to gather in person.
Luis Bush, who introduced the 10/40 Window concept at the Lausanne II conference in Manila in 1989, gave a lecture entitled ‘Transform the World’. Goong Kim, co-president of the assembly and founder of Maranatha Vision Church (MVC) in the San Francisco Bay Area, shared a speech on holistic partnership.
Ying Kai, executive director of T4T Global missions, talked about the practice of the Disciple Making Movement and Church Planting Movement in China. Pastor Pankaj Godgate shared experiences of these movements in India. Youssef Ourahmane, who leads Algerians 4 Missions which trains locals to share the gospel in Algeria and beyond, presented a lecture on the same practice in the Arab world. Based on his training experiences since he began to work among unengaged people groups in south China in 1991, Dr Curtis Sergean, who runs a disciple-making and missions training centre, shared the global best practices.
