Jewish believers plan global outreach

International Mission to Jewish People (IMJP), has announced its most ambitious evangelistic programme yet.

Its 2022 ‘In the Cities’ mission series will visit London, Paris, Amsterdam and Budapest, before heading further afield to Pittsburgh, Rio de Janeiro, Sao Paulo and Sydney, with the potential to reach over 1million Jewish people living in ten major global cities.

‘In the Cities’ represents a major expansion of IMJP’s evangelistic efforts, which were hitherto confined to a single location each year. But the easing of Covid-19 restrictions and the recruitment of more missionaries has allowed a far more ambitious programme in 2022.

Joseph Steinberg, CEO of IMJP, said: ‘The past few years have presented unique challenges for our missionaries. However, God has used the difficult circumstances we have all faced to provoke many Jewish people to consider their own spiritual state and seek Him. As a result, we have found it to be a very fruitful time for the gospel.’

He continued: ‘Over recent years, we have held a single annual large-scale, summer outreach, in a city where one of our missionaries is based. As well as providing gospel opportunities during the event itself, these summer outreaches have enabled our missionaries to build relationships with local Jewish people that they can follow up once the outreach has finished.’

Each ‘In the City’ event will be planned and led by an IMJP missionary, who will partner with local churches and a team of local volunteers to reach the Jewish community in that city. As a result, organisers hope many Jewish people living in the cities covered by these outreaches will have the opportunity to hear the gospel, and relationships with local churches and believers will be established to help IMJP fulfil its vision to reach Jewish people with the Good News.
