I was interested to read the article ‘In Flanders fields...’ in August’s en and specially to see the picture of the attic chapel at Talbot House, which was known as ‘the Upper Room’.
My father fought in WWII, and after the war joined the local branch of Toc H, which was involved in many good works. On two occasions I went with him and a group to Poperinge and Ieper/Ypres. At that time (about 1965) I was an evangelical Anglican curate and conducted a service of the Lord’s Supper for the group in the chapel at Talbot House – I suspect I was the only minister not to have worn eucharistic vestments for such a service!
