As an elder in an evangelical church I have
read with interest and concern the letters on
this subject.
It
is
surely a clear case of correlation
between what we modern evangelicals sow
and reap. We endlessly praise and prioritise
the value of pulpit ministry. It should be no
surprise that pastors are trained to meet this
priority and that leaders work to maintain it.
Why then be surprised that pastoral care of
those confined to their homes and unable to
secure attention by attendance at public
worship
then becomes
the Cinderella of
ministry?
