Reaching local people

Dear Editor,

My thoughts on the article ‘Reaching local people’ in November’s en were different to those of your January correspondent.

I had a look at Andrew King's website (www.fasttract.org) and was inspired to do something similar – to produce a good quality postcard with a well-designed punchy image on one side and a bite-sized gospel message on the other.

We have already produced our first postcard using our own design (you can also use one of Andrew’s for a nominal donation) and we adapted the wording of one of Andrew’s themes – Loneliness – to suit our particular neighbourhood. To satisfy your correspondent's concern that there should be face-to-face communication of the gospel, distributing the postcards does provide opportunities for doing that.

We are planning to distribute postcards on a regular basis to sow the seed of the gospel, to increase the church's presence in our neighbourhood, and to keep reminding people that we are here if they need us. I'm now working on the next postcard.

Yours faithfully,
