You can guarantee that the subject of Creation/Evolution will always provide you with plenty of material! Here is a small contribution which I believe highlights the fault line which unfortunately divides us.
In the May issue of en we were reminded of the belief that the Puritans held that God has revealed himself in two books, the Bible, and the book of Nature (review of the book Let There Be Science). With respect to the reviewer, can I point out that modern science seeks to find connections between events which we observe in Nature, which we call the Laws of Science. It does not depend on that area of philosophy which is based purely on human speculation about the nature of reality. So, even if an atheist puts forward a scientific theory, its validity is not negated by his atheism; its validity or otherwise depends solely on how well it agrees with the experimental evidence.
