Brian Edwards ends his article with ‘even the mighty Warfield could allow a modern scientific theory to force him to attempt the impossible’. But this of course assumes that Warfield was indeed mistaken.
In view of the snowballing evidence of the last 50 years for Planet Earth being billions of years old, the scientific community view a creation date of only a few thousand years ago much as we would view Flat Earthers.
Which, when inviting professional friends to evangelistic events, can mean it feels as if I am bringing them to hear a science talk on how the earth is flat. (Imagine how you might feel doing that).
All Scripture is God-breathed, but not all Scripture is interpreted strictly literally, otherwise I for one, would be walking about with white sticks having gouged out both my eyes!
