Dear Sir,

Interesting article, and at one point the writer asks ‘why didn’t God use Moses to lead Israel out of captivity when he was 40? Why did he wait until he was 80?

Quite simply, at 40 Moses was confident that he could do it and killed an Egyptian overseer, thinking people would recognise that he was the chosen one to release them from slavery. 40 years later while in exile, when God appeared in the burning bush to tell this 80-year-old man that now was the time, he complained that he was totally inadequate for the task. That is the sort of man that God can use; one that knows he is totally incapable of doing God’s work and actually relies solely on God rather than his own abilities.
