Dear Sir,
The Anglican Update column in February’s en about General Synod and transgender liturgy was sadly marred by the somewhat long and convoluted sentence halfway through, beginning: ‘Henderson expressed…’. That was possibly due to a typo.
More seriously though was the likening of William Nye, Secretary–General of the House of Bishops, to Sir Humphrey Appleby. (Those readers younger than ‘a certain age’ might need to be informed that this was one of the main characters in the television series Yes, Minister and Yes, Prime Minister in the 1980s).
