Dear en,
In the August issue, the USA report ‘Pastor calls STBS to rename college’: I notice that Dwight McKissic is described as ‘prominent black Southern Baptist pastor’. Yet no equivalent adjective is given to other persons in the report. Why is Albert Mohler not described as ‘current white STBS President’, for example?
Perhaps, in the mind of the American reporter, and many of those reading it, there are still ‘Christians’ and ‘black Christians’, ‘pastors’ and ‘black pastors’. That discrimination, which started in the time of slavery, needs to stop.
