JOURNEY WITH GOD
Daily Bible readings from Exodus
By George Philip. Rutherford House. 330 pages
ISBN 0 946068 87 9

A note on the cover of the book tells us that George Philip had an expository ministry for 40 years, covering, in that time, every chapter in the Bible.

What he also did for his congregation was to provide daily Bible Reading Notes in his monthly magazine. This book brings together the 'Notes' on Exodus.

The book of Exodus is divided into daily undated readings, so there is nothing to stop readers from reading several sections at one time. The passage from Exodus is around seven verses in length each time: this is not printed, so the reader has to read the Bible passage alongside. There is around a page of notes about each section. These are most helpful in illuminating the text and applying it to us. The book of Exodus is diverse in content, from narrative to law, including the ten commandments. The reader is constantly taken back to the resources of God's power up-holding us in all our weaknesses.

The book is highly recommended for use with Exodus, perhaps where good food is needed in a limited amount of time!
