THE KINGDOM OF GOD
A primer on the Christian life
By W. Tullian Tchivdjian. Banner of Truth. 43 pages. £2.00
ISBN 0 85151 900 8

This is a powerful and perceptive little booklet which points out our basic orientation in the Christian life.

Based on our Lord’s Sermon on the Mount it answers fundamental questions about God’s kingdom. It explains what the kingdom is, what the characteristics of its citizens are (the Beatitudes), what our function is in this world (salt and light), and what opposition we can expect to face (suffering and false prophets).

At a time when there is much confusion about God’s kingdom from liberal and neo-evangelical theology this booklet is straight and clear. It has a fine emphasis on our call to be as different from the world as chalk and cheese, but at the same time tells us we must be in the world as well as not of the world. This is a brilliant little primer to give to new Christians and old.
