HER HUSBAND’S CROWN

Although much has been written to prepare men for becoming pastors, there is comparatively little in print concerning the pastor’s wife and her role in the church.

This little book, written by a wife whose husband came into the ministry later in life, seeks to fill the gap.

It will prove especially useful to those women who are new to the life of the manse. It is based around a list of do’s and don’ts which are very helpful. Some of these are less obvious but nevertheless very important, e.g. avoiding gossip. The strength of the book is that it has a devotional flavour and seeks to keep the wife’s eyes on serving Jesus in honouring and helping her husband. This is good advice for any wife anywhere.

However, there was a missing note, I felt. It does not focus much either on the joy and delight of marriage, or on the joy and delight of ministry. It’s more about grit than gladness.
