OUR HOME IS LIKE A LITTLE CHURCH

By Lindsey Blair and Bobby Gillies

Illustrated by Tessa Janes

Christian Focus. 12 pages. £2.99

ISBN 978 1 845 505 523

These two excellent booklets for children have their origins in Sojourn Community Church, Louisville, which was planted some years ago with the involvement of graduates from Southern Baptist Seminary.

The first seeks to explain to children, in rhyme, that a church is not a building, but the people of God who love Jesus and learn of him from the Bible. The second is similar, but explains that a Christian family should be like a little church where God is worshipped every day and dad is the ‘pastor’.

Both books are beautifully illustrated, a joy to handle, fun to read to the kids and will help impart a proper sense of identity to congregations and families. Not least, Our home is like a little church will challenge fathers to take a spiritual lead at home.
