Phil Moore has given us an overview commentary on the whole volume of the Psalms. He does so in 60 short chapters.
Sometimes he handles two or three Psalms at one and the same time. On other occasions he looks at just one chapter.
I found the book to be a precious mixture of thorough scholarship (hiding in the background), warm devotional comments, perceptive analysis and helpful exegesis.
It would be immensely beneficial to a preacher about to begin a series on the Psalms. It would make a lovely companion for anyone about to take a devotional journey through the book and would serve as a commentary without burdened them with too much detail.
There are gems scattered liberally throughout the pages as well as a wealth of illustrative material. All in all, an excellent companion to the Psalms.
