On October 25 a new church plant began in Epsom Primary School.
The previous Sunday morning 30+ adults and children were commissioned during the morning service at Chessington Evangelical Church, to begin this new work.
The service was led by the interim pastor, John Tindall, who interviewed the three elders who are leading Emmanuel Epsom. They are Pastor Nigel Stokes, Andy Wyatt and Dan Sinclair.
Emmanuel Epsom will hold services each Sunday morning at 10.30am, preceded by coffee and pastries at 10.00am. The congregation will meet in ‘Life Groups’ during the midweek.
Nigel Stokes was converted at Lansdowne Baptist Church (Bournemouth) in his youth. He studied at university in Kingston upon Thames, attended Chessington Evangelical Church during that time and met his wife, Joanna. After a period teaching in junior schools he felt a call to pastoral ministry. He trained for the ministry at Gordon Conwell Theological Seminary. Upon his return he served at Three Bridges Evangelical Church before applying to lead Emmanuel Epsom.
