The hosts are Jim Armstrong, General Director of Echoes International, and Matt Pitts, the Missions Director.
Echoes International is a mission charity that partners with local churches. They are active in over 40 countries and encourage churches in the UK to pray for international mission.
I listened to an episode of this podcast that had as a guest James Poole, the Executive Director of Wycliffe Bible Translators. Bible translation is something that has always fascinated me; brothers and sisters at work translating the Bible into every known language as quickly and carefully as possible.
One statistic I learnt while listening was that there is a new language New Testament launched every week! I think we often forget how important Bible translation is. We are promised in Scripture that every tribe, nation and tongue will be worshipping at the throne of God. How can this be achieved without the gospel being preached and the word being available in every language?!
This podcast has a jovial, conversational tone which aids in its easy listening.
I found myself (and I guess this is the point of the podcast), firstly, becoming really interested in Bible translation and, secondly, feeling stirred to pray for Wycliffe and other organisations doing this for the sake of the gospel.
After listening to this episode and feeling greatly encouraged, I’m sure that as this series goes on and we hear from other men and women across God’s mission field, we will continue to be so!
