Is it worth following Jesus? Morphew is working with teenagers in Australia, and in Worth It he seeks to engage with the realities of life growing up now.
What makes this particularly helpful is that Morphew engages with life as it is, but brings the eternal word to bear on the complexities. Morphew does not seek to present direct answers to the challenges of sexual ethics or technology in our day, but he does present Jesus. His argument is that if we know and trust Jesus we can navigate life in all its complexity. The Bible is handled well and used in a straightforward way to help us see that following Jesus is worth it.
Worth It is written in a refreshingly simple style and does not seem to suffer from trying to be cool. A few of the chapter headings may whet your appetite: “The Good News about God’s Judgement”. “How to Really Love your Friends”. “Dealing with Disagreement and Criticism”. In those perhaps you can see that Morphew does deal with teenagers and does want to help with the real challenges they face. I would commend Worth It particularly to teenagers working these through, or to parents wanting to explore Christianity with their teenagers.
