Women in the West

Liz Cox

Two Women’s Conferences were held in Bristol and Bath during Spring and all thanks go to God for his sovereign care over the details, big and small, and for making it possible to re-arrange a snowed off Bristol Conference to the following week.

Bath, it is fair to say, enjoyed much sunnier weather a few weeks later, with lunch being eaten outside in the beautiful surroundings of Kingswood School.

Liz Cox, the Minister for Women and Community at St Giles’ Church, Derby, spoke at both conferences on 1 Thessalonians. It was such a blessing to be encouraged and reminded that the call for the Thessalonian Christians to ‘get ready’ for heaven, through living out the godly values of faith, love and hope, is the same for today, since we are part of the same heavenly family.

Seminars were on a wide variety of relevant topics to think through and understand on a deeper level.

Both conferences provided the rich opportunity for over 500 women from different churches, backgrounds and nationalities, across the South West and beyond, to sing together, be taught together and enjoy good coffee and cake together – a special taste of heaven here on earth!
