The Evangelical Movement of Wales again supported church evangelistic outreach during the late May bank holiday Hay-on-Wye festival.
Bethesda Evangelical Church, Cornerstone Abergavenny, and Show Jesus reached out to the visitors at the popular book festival. Amid the myriad of ideas being shared at the two festivals in Hay there are very few Christian voices to be heard there.
New ideas
The groups felt encouraged that this year was a further improvement on previous years’ developments. Sunday services on the site were well attended. A local Christian playing the harp in the evening drew people to the site where friendly and yet deep conversa-tions happened. The organisers are already thinking and praying about how to make improvements for the 2020 festival.
Please pray for a lonely older lady who has shown interest in spiritual matters, but is resisting further commitment at present. Also for a family who have recently moved into the area with their three children who are seriously considering coming to church.
Many people took literature, and lots contributed their six-word life stories to the community board set up next to the tent.
Others engaged with the ‘question of the day’: may they all seek the Lord. May God surprise us with His blessings. The groups are thankful for the prayers given as they really knew God’s help in Hay.
