Two encouraging pieces of news from the Evangelical Movement of Wales (EMW). Steffan Job writes:
A group of officers and leaders from the camps and conference work have produced some online videos to fill the gap left by the summer cancellations, and so began Awr i blant (An hour for children).
The three episodes were a roaring success, with hundreds of views and positive feedback from children. Each episode is packed with songs, animations, games, jokes and more – all with the aim of bringing the gospel message to children. Following the success in the summer we produced a Christmas special that has seen even more views on our YouTube channel.
We’ve been amazed that the Lord has gifted some of our leaders in such a way and had it not been for the cancellation of our main events, we would never have found this way of reaching hundreds more children with the gospel message. We are looking to produce more programmes in the months ahead.
Another real surprise has been the response to our bilingual evangelistic magazine ‘Ask/ Holi’. The annual magazine was originally produced for use in our missions at national events. It was a disappointment to have them all cancelled in 2020 and we therefore didn’t produce the magazine. However, we thought of offering a Christmas edition to churches in Wales. The magazine contained stories, testimonies, and plenty of Bible readings, all in an A5 size that was easy to post and distribute. We didn’t expect much, maybe a few thousand copies, but God surprised us once again. Nearly a hundred churches joined the project from all corners of Wales, with over 57,000 magazines being distributed (4% of the households of Wales were covered).
Numbers are not everything, and we wait to see what spiritual fruit will come from the distribution, but it has certainly opened our eyes to what God can do. Please pray for the ongoing work of the gospel in Wales. What a God we have!
