Christianity Explored Ministries (CEM) has appointed Kay Carter as its first UK National Director. She will oversee the development of a new generation of evangelistic resources, and help the ministry to reach new audiences.
Commenting on her appointment, Carter says: ‘I am delighted to have joined Christianity Explored Ministries as UK National Director – working with the amazing team to help Christians to love, live, and tell the good news of Jesus. As a former CE leader myself, it’s a huge privilege to play a part in creating the next generation of resources.’
Background in journalism
Carter’s background is in print and digital journalism, with a brief spell running the secretariat for the All Party Parliamentary Group for International Freedom of Religion or Belief. She joins CEM from Tyndale House, a Bible research institute in Cambridge, where she was Vice Principal for Strategy and Communications.
Ian Roberts, CEO, says: ‘Kay’s appointment is a milestone in the growth of CEM. Evangelism in the UK has changed rapidly since the Covid pandemic hit, and Kay’s experience in strategy and communication will help the ministry to equip the church for Bible-based evangelism in the years to come.’
Carter joins CEM at an exciting time for the ministry. A new generation of evangelistic resources is in development, with Hope Explored, a new three-session series, scheduled for release in early 2021. Carter says: ‘The highlight to date has been seeing the new Hope Explored resource start to take shape. It’s going to be a great bite-sized introduction to Jesus for those not quite ready to take the plunge with a seven-session course.’
International partnerships
As the ministry continues to expand globally, the addition of a National Director gives focus to the UK operations while freeing up the existing leadership team to focus more on the development of international partnerships. CEM’s vision is for more people around the world to love, live and tell the good news of Jesus.
