August has marked a significant milestone for two new Scottish church plants as they launch new weekly Sunday morning services.
Leven Free Church, in Leven, and Hope Church Leith, in Edinburgh, have each begun holding regular Sunday times of worship.
Following the closure of Leith Elder Memorial Church two years ago, Derek Lamont was appointed as the church planter and has worked with a core team.
He said: “The building has undergone a substantial renovation, making it more flexible for worship, church and community use.
"There were monthly ‘Come and See’ services in April, May and June of this year – and last Sunday weekly worship started.
"So now the real work begins!”
Meanwhile, Geoff Murray from Leven Free Church asked for continued prayer as they began weekly Sunday services.
Murray said: “We are thankful for all the answered prayers as we saw folks responding to invites, including a new family who came to join us.
"We pray and long to see the work move forward with conversions and spiritual growth.”
