Part of the answer to the problems raised in the article entitled ‘Family Life and Childcare?’ is simple (EN, May).
If both parents have to go out and work simply to keep their financial heads above water, the best thing to have is a pay rise.
Wages have stagnated or fallen for so many people since the financial crash of 2008. So, working people (rather than bank chief executives) need more money.
The introduction of a Living Wage in the UK might help that situation.
