Dear Editor,

In September’s en you helpfully drew attention to developments in Hong Kong, explaining that this may result in some Christians using rights granted by the UK government to settle here.

As a trustee of the Chinese Overseas Christian Mission (COCM) I can say that the mission has staff and associates in the UK who speak both Cantonese and Mandarin. The majority of Chinese churches in the UK were founded, directly or indirectly, through the work of COCM. Most are now independent, but the mission is in contact with them and has a good knowledge of them. So I would encourage your readers to refer Hong Kong Christians to COCM (www.cocm.org.uk) who can put them in touch with the nearest Chinese church, and let them know of conferences and Bible training courses in Chinese as well as English.
