Regarding the ‘very smelly elderly gent’
(August en, p.16), up here in N.E. Scotland
we had a similar situation.
I am not sure how Gordon, our gent,
was treated by his church, but at the annual
Keswick-type
conference
in
his
town
(Buckie) he attended all the meetings and
people struggled to sit near him. Also at the
daily lunches he would arrive late and sit on
his own to avoid embarrassment. However
the highlight of the week was when the wife
of a local church leader sat and chatted to
him while he was having his lunch. Practical,
loving Christianity.
God bless,
