I praise God for the ministry of Canon for Tim Hillier (Features, en Dec.) and those whom he mentions who ‘turn away from occult practices and turn to Christ’. Tim knows much more than I do about this specialised area of ministry.
He mentions the ‘unquiet spirits’ of those who have died and are ‘unable to move on’, and anticipates that some will find this concept difficult to grapple with, on account of their ‘theological presuppositions’.
I find it difficult to grapple with because of the teaching of Scripture which, as Jesus said, ‘cannot be broken’. Jesus himself told a dying believer that he would be with Him in paradise that very same day, and the apostle Paul states that to be ‘absent from the body’ is to be ‘present with the Lord’ (2 Cor. 5:8). The apostle Peter writes that the ungodly are kept ‘under punishment until the day of judgment’ (2 Peter 2:9). Could Tim please explain how his experiences and conclusions square with this Scriptural teaching?
I don’t know the explanation of the phenomena which Tim attributes to ‘unquiet spirits’ but I do ‘know whom I have believed’ and I know what He and His inspired apostles said.
