Dear Editor,

In the recent past, scientific discoveries have overturned several widely-held notions that each in their way denied what the Bible teaches. For example, the Bible states or strongly implies:–

1. that there was a beginning

2. that order emerged out of chaos

3. that light came out of darkness

4. a global catastrophe of life-extinguishing proportions

5. mankind’s stewardship of the planet

6. that the earth is ideally equipped for life

7. that there is but one human race and we are all descended from one individual man and from one individual woman.

Astonishingly, all of these – once derided as being impossible in the prevailing scientific consensus – are now widely acclaimed as results of scientific observations. That so many stones, once rejected by their builders, have, in effect, become the cornerstones of their respective disciplines should cause us to see God’s hand in it and rejoice. However, buyer beware: neither ‘Big Bang;’ ‘Chaos Theory;’ ‘Cosmic Dawn;’ ‘Day the Dinosaurs Died;’ ‘Anthropogenic Climate Change;’ ‘Goldilocks Zone;’ nor ‘Mitochondrial Eve/ y-chromosome Adam’ is the gospel.

Yours sincerely,
John Kilpatrick By email
