What I look forward to most when I have some down time in an airport is people-watching or reading magazines.

I like it when there are loads of titles that I don’t normally get to read. On the odd occasion that I find myself in an American airport with a few hours to spare I usually purchase an armload and then hide myself in a corner not far from the boarding desk. Which is why last year I found myself sitting in Dallas departures, delving into titles like Southern Home, The Pioneer Woman and Cooking for Fall. They all had a similar tone or theme to them – how to be the hostess with the mostest.
