INFINITY AND BEYOND
A love story without end
By Lynette Leitch. Canaan Press. 230 pages. £7.95
ISBN 0 9551816 0 7

How would you react if you were told that your child had an incurable brain cancer? Infinity and Beyond is the true story of one family’s experience of dealing with the illness of their young teenage son.

It is a story both of unconditional love and also the way in which their faith in a loving, caring heavenly Father enabled Matthew’s parents to care for him at home until the end of his earthly life.

Although the narrative deals with Matthew’s illness and its effects on those around him, there are valuable side issues to be considered within this context. Are we too reliant on modern medical methods? Are there alternative therapies (in this particular case, homeopathy) that are of value? How can the church best support those members who are undergoing deep trauma?

Infinity and Beyond is a compelling read and a vivid reminder that grace and peace can be found in the darkest times through the enabling of a loving, caring heavenly Father.
