Billy Fidget’s Family Fortunes is a strangely moving book and a book that ‘grew on me’ the more that I read it.
The book is a series of letters to God by Billy Fidget and his family. In a most unexpected way God writes back! (Warning – don’t be thrown by God calling himself ‘your loving Dad’!)
The correspondence takes the reader through the highs and lows of Billy’s family life and the events that cause them to cry in utter despair: ‘Just where are you now in this whirling sea of disaster?’. As they see God at work in their lives they are encouraged as his final words to them are: ‘Keep on trusting me and following one step at a time. It’s going to be great!’.
This is an interesting book and should be of value to young families and those who are needing to see the way in which God leads his people through all kinds of difficult and unexpected events if only they trust that he knows best!
