A new Bible study book always makes me sit up and take notice. I suppose I automatically think of particular groups where such a book would be useful, as well as being excited at the prospect of looking at God’s Word with fresh eyes and perspectives.
In this respect this little study book came as a bit of a disappointment as it does not actually study the Bible. Admittedly it does encourage the users to read an assortment of relevant Bible passages, pondering them with pointed questions, but there are no helps to guide you through these sections.
What the book does have are many quotations from different people’s writings regarding their use of time and what they have discovered to be important in their own walk with God. These range from C.S. Lewis to Mother Teresa, as well as personal reflections from the author’s life. Many of these quotations are quite helpful as I ponder my own relationship with God and how I prioritise my use of time.
I am not quite sure to whom I would recommend this guide. For mixed group studies, where people are at very different stages of spiritual growth, I would prefer something that follows Bible passages more closely. However, for a mature group who have been studying together for some time, this might just be a fresh way to approach many familiar passages.
