Joy and thanksgiving marked the induction of Ian Hilder as co-pastor of Shepshed Word of Life Church, in Leicestershire.
This happy occasion took place at the beginning of April.
God’s providence
Formerly pastor at Copse Chapel in Clevedon, now succeeded by Sukesh Pabari, Ian joins a church which has seen the providence of God at work as they looked for an older man to work part time for three years.
Pastor Dia Moodley from Spirit of Life Church, Bristol, preached most refreshingly, emphasising both the need to ‘preach the Word’ and the fact that in Acts 5 it was an angel of the Lord who opened the prison doors to see Peter released and Peter who was ordered to go, stand and ‘speak to the people all the words of this life’, underlining the fact that gospel ministry has been entrusted to preachers of the Word, not to angels!
It was a great joy to share this day both with Ian’s family and friends, including many who had travelled from Copse Road, and with saints across Leicestershire. Shepshed is immensely grateful to God for the way his providential hand has guided and provided and would value your prayers for Ian and Hilary as they settle in pastures new after almost 30 years in Clevedon.
