The Scotland Pastors’ Wives Conference held recently was the FIEC’s first in-person event for pastors’ wives since Covid restrictions were lifted.
It was great to have 20 women come together in Edinburgh to hear from God’s word, ask questions of a panel of pastors’ wives, enjoy time reflecting on God’s faithfulness, and look forward to what might be in store.
Jillian Ferguson (Yoker Evangelical Church, Glasgow, see photo) spoke from John 15, abiding in Christ. She helpfully demonstrated that as a gardener carefully tends to and prunes his vine, the branches will bear fruit because that is what they are designed to do when they are part of the vine.
Lesley Rogan travelled from Hope Church, Aviemore – she came the furthest – and shared why it was worth prioritising the day.
‘Going to a pastors’ wives conference can sometimes feel a bit like going to a Bible study on a winter’s evening. It takes a bit of effort to get out of the door, but you know it’s going to be worth it, will keep you going in the fight of faith, and will be good for the soul! Well, the recent Scotland Pastors’ Wives Conference in Edinburgh was just that, just what I needed.
‘As a pastor’s wife, you can sometimes feel a little bit isolated. So, it was helpful to meet with other women interested in and full of encouraging wise words for one another, and to enjoy laughing, praying, and worshipping together.
‘What better way to be encouraged than to be immersed in God’s word together.’
