The Fellowship of Independent Evangelical Churches (FIEC) has announced some of the speakers due to attend its Leaders’ Conference for church leaders next year. The conference is set to take place in Blackpool in November 2024.
The overarching theme of the conference will be ‘Looking to Jesus, Loving like Jesus’. Girma Bishaw, Brian Croft, Sharon Dickens, Marcus Honeysett, and Helen Thorne are due to speak at the event, along with others who are yet to be announced.
Marcus Honeysett, Director of Living Leadership, is looking forward to the event. He said: ‘It’s always a great privilege to be invited to help shepherds think about following and leading like the Good Shepherd. The FIEC 2024 conference strapline – Looking to Jesus, Loving like Jesus – is, I think, going to encourage the hearts of a whole lot of church leaders in the love and grace of God.’
Helen Thorne, Director of Training and Resources at Biblical Counselling UK, who will likely be speaking about pastoral care, said: ‘What a privilege it will be to serve at the FIEC Leaders’ Conference 2024. As Christians in a fallen world, we inevitably endure much pain, but at the same time have access to such hope. I am greatly looking forward to helping us think about how we can walk alongside those who are struggling – and doing so with humility, love, wisdom, and deep confidence in God’s word.’
Brian Croft, Executive Director of Practical Shepherd, said: ‘The main focus of my ministry at Practical Shepherding is the holistic care of a pastor in three areas: the pastor’s soul; the pastor’s ministry; the pastor’s family.
‘I am also passionate about helping pastors know how to shepherd the souls of people since I feel strongly about God’s call for pastors to do this … . I believe this is the focus of the next conference and why in part I was invited.’
